The manufacturer HP numbers are usually crank power numbers and not wheel to road numbers. The 4 cyl is stock with the 160 HP engine but when you take into account that the curb weight on the manual Accord is 3047 lbs, it's getting at least 15 HP less where it counts (tires to road). To add to the issue, the manufacturer performs the tests under optimum conditions- 60F and 0% humidity.

The 4 cyl Accord isn't meant to have performance above and beyond, it's meant to be a family hauler and use as little gas as possible while doing it. If you want performance in the Accord you'll have to lay down the cash and front for a V6.

I test drove the V6 EX Coupe back in April and I was very impressed with the performance, styling and interior. I might lay down some cash for a '03 V6 EX Coupe this winter when the '04's come out. I still want to check out the Acura CL and TL.

Highly doubtfull. I take my cousin in his RSX-S 6-Speed off the line by about a 1/2 car and then I am pulling nicely from there!

 

i have a 03 accord v6 coupe 6 speed manual and i have to tell u that its "FASTER" then 350Z or the G35!and im not kiddin.if u have a 4cyl. car then dont complain!!!its slow!!but not V6 6speed.anybody with 4 cyl. should regret not gettin the biger motor.sorry but its fast or u jus dont know how to drive!!!thats all.i love my accord

Uh my mom has an 03 accord ex 4cyl 5spd and it does feel pretty slow. My 94 ex auto seems just as fast. but, it's not like honda has some crazy high braggings rights on the 03 4cyl. My car is rated stock at 145hp (2.2L) 9 years later the 03 comes out with 160hp (2.4L) 15hp difference!
