If you have any warranty left, exchange it because 2000 Accord owners have little trouble with burned CD-R's. Of course you have to use good burned CD's with 74 minutes or less. I don't think the 80 min. CD's work as well.
I have heard this, too, about the fact that if you use 74 minute CD-Rs, there is less of a chance of the disc not playing as opposed to the 80 minute ones; ESPECIALLY in FACTORY CD players of any kind---aftermarket decks will pretty much play ANYTHING you throw at them. And so I was using the 74 min Maxell AUDIO CD-Rs for a long time with no problems, and then switched to 80 min Maxell PRO AUDIO CD-Rs, which give me problems now...HOWEVER, GO FIGURE...when I use TDK 80 min CD-Rs, THEY WORK FINE...no delay, no hesitation...I dont get it. These lasers are just brand sensitive I think.

I dont know if it has anything to do with the fact that I am burning from a consumer grade home audio CD recorder, and most peeps burn from a computer....my recorder takes the special AUDIO/MUSIC ONLY blank CD-Rs---THEY WILL NOT take the computer CD-Rs. The package MUST read FOR MUSIC ONLY.

on a side note:
most players that wont read a 80minute CD is based on the reading laser of the deck the same way some players wont read past 50 and others wont read past 99. you can put ova 99 track points but the player will only read 1-99 and error for the rest (or just restart) as for 74min/650mb CD's vs. 80min/800mb the size of the CD didnt change its the way the recorder and reader view the information on the CD. many (not all) older players wont read a 80min CD (however data wise they can) where new player will recognize the information stored on the disks

yeah i feel you i have 2 tascam pro recorders which will use any kind of CD-r/CD-RW that takes audio (cuz some dont). one recorder is only a recorder/player (single drive unit) and the other allows me to burn a copy at 8speed (dual drive unit)

I feel ya....TASCAM is good shit....used their tape decks and they were killer....I used to do their public relations at a company out on the Island...I wound up going with one of the first consumer recorders on the market, the Marantz DR700, which makes awesome digital recordings, they pretty much sound like the original; and I always burn at real time speed; I like to hear my songs I am recording. BUT this Marantz will ONLY take the consumer grade CD-Rs, with the AUDIO ONLY stamp on em; professional recorders like your TASCAMs will pretty much use any kind of blank.
