Probably. I went to Just Brakes and they wanted to tell me to replace my calipers on both sides of the car, even though only one was supposedly bad. Then he said it looks like I needed a new master cylinder. All on a 2002 w/ 70,000 miles. So yeah, they could indeed be jerkin his chain. I would buy the stuff you put in the engine @ each oil change and call it a day.

i've seen ambsoil(sp?) engine cleaner, in order to run it properly, you have to take out approximately 1quart of old engine oil off from your ride and then pour that cleaning solution into the engine and run your car at high idle about 20mins, but you aren't actually driving your ride, just idle at high rpm for 20mins and just drain out the engine oil.

i don't know how they work out good, but i would like to do some sort of engine clean sometime this summer time if possible, my engine has been running for last 10yrs!

Flushes might allow the gaskets to dry, but probably not. Dunno.

The Bilstein Engine flush entails the connect of a closed circuit to the oil filter mounting place and the oil pan after the oil has been drained out of the car.

Then a heated solvent is pumped through the engine and allowed to travel wherever oil would be in you motor and clean the engine. It should remove carbon deposits and sludge. in theory it should allow the motor to look visually like new from the inside. The motor should run cooler and smoother.

After the predetermined cycle is run, the stuff is pumped into the flush machine and it is disconnected. Then the filter is replaced and the motor filled with oil.

So in short it is not just lil oil additive.

This product was featured a few years ago on MotorWeek on PBS.

Like I said before...I have seen the service for $80.

the problem is that some of the junk gets into the filter, which is what you want, but also the junk falls into the pan. in an old motor that wasn't taken care of, that sludge can damage the oil pump. i've been recommended to never use them, ever. they work & clean the motor alright, but sometimes it'll clean out your wallet.
