Some Styling Analysis And Other Ramblings...
Make no mistake about it folks, my 1999 San Marino Red Accord EX V6 coupe looked gorgeous when I picked her up on Halloween of 98...but now, 39,000 miles later and living without a garage to put her in anymore and driving on ice covered, salt eaten pothole ridden roads in New York, she is beginning to show her age...between dings, dents, and scratches, she just doesn't look or feel the same anymore.
Any any rate, my baby is pretty much Honda authorized-loaded, wearing the OEM body kit, rear wing, fogs, exhaust tips, and 16 inch alloys. I added 20 percent window tint all around (a kind of chocolate brown/bronze color, which my guy told me complemented the red paint nicely), but I am having some issues with what I feel to be "played out styling" on this car, now that the 2003's are out...what are your opinions on the OEM equipment Honda offers for the 98-02 coupes? The under body spoiler kit---nice? Keep it?
One of my biggest gripes comes with the rear spoiler Honda chooses to use on the coupe---its so damn low off the trunk in my opinion! You guys think so, too? Why does Honda not offer a high-profile wing for this car? The Civic has one, OEM style..why not the Accord? I sometimes think the rear spoiler just makes no difference on my car; like it might as well been left off..what are your opinions on the accessories from the factory, like the body kit and wing?
I was thinking of changing up the stock 16 inch alloys for some chrome 18s, but I gotta tell you---after this winter here, I dont think aftermarket wheels can take the beating...the roads are ALL RIPPED UP here from the potholes...should I hang on to my stock 16s? What are your opinions on the Accord Coupe's 16 inch wheels? Decent enough for some?
I was thinking of doing a lot...changing my tint to really dark limo, replacing the dealer license frames with red neon ones (to glow from BEHIND my plates, not around them), adding gold emblems and exhaust tips, or taking the badging off...perhaps adding HID headlamps and fogs...what are your thoughts of Honda's OEM accessory offerings---can they be "street worthy" enough, to a certain degree?
Peace.

If you are really worried about having the old body style...sell it and get a new one.
But if you want to keep it, here's my responses to your questions.
Keep the OEM body kit...looks great.
Keep the spoiler...well, just don't get a big one.
Do NOT get neon frames, gold emblems or exhaust tips.
HID...YES.
Fogs...OEM's or leave it without.
Your tint color sounds really weird. Replace it if you like, but I would avoid limo tint unless you like tickets, and don't want to see out of your car at night.
If you want 18" wheels, go for it. But don't get chrome.
If you do get 18's...lower your car with at least a sport drop first.
Keep your 16's for winter. That's what I do. Roll on 15" stock alloys for winter, 18's for the other three seasons.
Those are just my opinions, since you are asking.
Here is MrChad's Red 2000 Coupe with OEM kit skirts and front and rear WW kit...it may give you an idea of what your car would look like with 18's and a sport drop.

If you are looking for cosmetic mods you could take the amber out of your headlights...I like that look.

Well, the dings and scratches are your own fault...I have no dings and few scratches in my car. You gotta park far away, bro.
I love the rear spoiler...I don't need something ricey. The OEM spoiler fits the car perfectly, as does the body kit. Here are some pics of my old Coupe (my current one is EXACTLY the same, save for missing front underspoiler and a year older):
The only problem I have is that the 75,000 highway miles really shows on the front end...the paint is pretty bad. Hopefully a clay bar and a good waxin will fix her. Any questions, let me know

I agree with J.
Keep the OEM kit and spoiler, and stay away from neon frames, and gold kit.
HID's, Fogs, and black tints would look
for Rims, if you go 18's you need a slight drop, and I am not a big fan of chrome.

Thanks bro for all your opinions....that Accord looks tight with 18s and a drop...
Out of curisoity, why no gold emblem package? Honda does offer this OEM style...what do you have against it, per se? Is it just because the car is red? And my tint color may "sound" weird, but it actually looks good in contrast on the red...I cant explain it, its more like a brown shade than a typical black/charcoal tint color...but I was concerned with the way the sun goes right into the car during the daylight hours...I think it looks kinda weak that way...

Basically the same reason I could never wear a gold watch...
Leave the gold package for the 50+ age group.
