Default Tokico shocks

Anyone have any experiences with Tokico performance shocks?
I went to carreview.com and many people with civics and integras have had problems with them leaking and blowing out. Not many responses from people with 6th gen accords.

Thanks

Your talking about Tokico H.P.'s right? When I researched threw a whole bunch of import forum's, that's the number one thing that stood out to me, blowing out and leaking. Plus I noticed quite a few people complaining that they had bounce with them. All sign's of running a sturt that's not valved or designed for lowering springs. At best the H.P.'s are 15% stiffer than oem, and even that I doubt. Even the mildest springs are useally stiffer than that, hense the reason for the problems. Kyb GR-2's aren't going to be a better solution since they are oem valved replacements. Adding to the problems is you'll get people that run either sturt with lowering springs that either don't realize how poorly they perform of they've gotten used to them and will tell everyone how great they are, when in reality they have issues. Running the right strut, one that is designed to deal with the stiffness of a given lowering spring is the only way to go.

hey, i have eibach prokits with tokicio blues. they're ok with the small drop i have. if u have a drop lower than 1.5" get something else cause like said above these shocks arent that strong. when i go over big bumps i do feel a bounce with them. other than that no leaks or blown outs yet.

I have comptechs with tokico illuminas, and I couldn't be happier. I don't think the blues are quite as good as the illuminas (obviously)....they are probably slightly better than the OEM shocks, but I'm betting not by much.

I've noticed that most of the complaints are from people who have lowered their car a lot. Maybe these shocks aren't made for that type of use.
I think I may go with the Illuminas even though they maybe a little over kill for my set up I don't want any trouble down the road.

I did a good amount of research...and talked to people with different setups...Koni Yellows are still the shock of choice...and KYB AGX rides GREAT and are well priced.

I'm suggesting to not get the illuminas, they ARE great shocks. Some people may argue that they ride nicer than Koni Yellows...I don't doubt that...I think it may vary by setup tho.

I love my illuminas, but I think if I had it to do again I would have gone with koni yellows, illuminas are great, but they don't go quite as stiff as I'd like for my real onry days, the soft setting is like a caddy, but the firm is like a stock M3, stiff but not ferrocious, one of my friends has the same neuspeeds I have with konis and his firmest setting it's crazy, it's kidney bleeding hard, great for the weekend jaunt up the mountain. illuminas are much better than stock, but if you're looking for blood in your piss, then they aren't for you

I'm starting to look into Illuminas. I think it'll be nice to have adjustables but I don't need blood in my piss stiff. Plus the Koni's are like 600 shipped and the Illuminas are 450 shipped. I think I'll be fine with the Illumina's I just don't want leaks and blowouts and an improvement over stock. I'm also putting in H&R OE's I need the ground clearance for the crappy roads around here so the Koni's maybe unnecessary.

I'd be curious about the AGX's but the KYB site says they don't make them for 6th gen Accords.

How's that sound?

Koni's should NOT be $600 shipped! I think you should be able to find them for around $525.
