How Do I Lower My Car?
Ok guys I'm lost... so PLEASE help me out!
I am considering lowering my car... it's a 1995 Accord Coupe EX.
I am mainly thinking of using Eibach Pro-Kits for the springs. I would like to use those on stock shocks/struts (are those the same thing?), but many people say that it will make camber (?) problems and un-even tire ware. So what is the solution to this... Camber Kit or Shocks/Struts... or both?
Also, are Coil Overs good? As in some Ground Control ones? And if I get Coil Overs do I need to get Camber Kit and/or Shocks/Struts?
Is this set up good? Stock Shocks and Camber w/ Eibach Pro-Kits?
Howabout this one? Eibach Pro-Kits and Tokico Blues?
Lastly, I think I might have found a good deal on some Tokico Blues... Would it be ok to go ahead and buy those, and install them on my car... would they make a difference height wise? Will this damage my stock suspension, springs, etc. And would it even be worth the extra cash... seeing as how I have no idea how much this installation costs.
BTW, the Tokico Blues I found were $100 for 4. Front were used 1 month and rear were used 4 months... at least that's what I am told. Is that a good deal?
Thanks,
John

dont lower your car on the stock struts (a strut is basically a shock with a mounted perch for the spring, so the spring and shock basically become one piece to be mounted to the car)
The ride will suffer, probably kinda bouncy... and you run the risk of blowing the struts because they are not designed to ride constantly at a lower height.
Spend the extra money on some struts... if the Tokico's are what you want, go for it... Ive heard a lot of good things about them.
Camber is always an issue when you lower the car, no matter how much or little you drop the car you're going to have negative camber. The consequences not only include uneven tire wear, but handling and traction will suffer as well, if the entire available footprint of the tire is not on the ground the way it should be, then you lose traction, thus your handling will suffer too.
Coilovers suck, unless you are reffering to a complete coilover suspension set-up, which are usually around $1000 or more for the kit.
Coil over springs in general tend to suck, the Ground Control's are the choice if you get them though. All they are is a spring with an adjustable collar that allows you to change the ride height. You will still want to get struts and a camber kit with this set-up.
If you get a complete coil over suspension, the struts are part of the package, from what I know, they are all ready to be mounted out of the box. A camber kit would still be needed.
If you can afford the complete coil over set-up... go for it... but the next best thing is a strut/spring combo.
Also, try to stay away from the camber kits that move the whole upper control arm... they tend to make that control arm hit the top of the wheel well, which is not good. Look for the adjustable ball joint type.

Get those Tokicos, Ground Control's and a Camber kit and you'll be set. Installation would be about $100, unless you could find someone on this board that can do it.

Tokico Blues are good....but not great for a huge drop. Since you're getting prokits, you'll be fine and the ride should be just a tad stiffer than stock. You shouldn't have any problem with camber, prokits aren't an agressive drop and the amount of camber change is really negligible.
I have prokits with my koni yellows and was considering a camber kit, but after installation, I actually have near perfect camber. I can't imagine tokico blues to give you a problem with that. I would definitely make sure the shocks are in as good condition as they are claimed to be. If they were on a car that was slammed 2.5" for a month on hard driving, I wouldn't recommend getting them. Good luck!

the blues wear out almost as fast as the stock shocks do so i decided to go with the whites. that was a bad move on my part because even at its stiffest setting, the whites still give a little bounce. as soon as i get the chance im going to get the koni yellows.
