Default Projection headlights?

Anyone know how to install projection headlights in a 2001 Accord? Just got a set and they didn't come with directions.

First off, I should start by saying this. Don't install them, send them back because you'll hate them.

Anyway, installation is a snap if a '01 is anything like my 96. First thing you'll need to do is remove your bumper which should be pretty straight forward there should be 4 bolts holding your bumper to the front. Take those off and your bumper should come free. Then unplug all the electrical to the current lights and remove the bolts holding them on. Remove them CAREFULLY and store them in a VERY safe place. I say this because you'll eventually want to reinstall them. Purchasing new lights is expensive. Then bolt the new ones on and plug in the wiring harness. Bolt your bumper back on and don't drive at night anymore.

Sorry if that's too short, I can't get too specific because I don't know the logistics of removing the bumper of an 01 or what lights you got, I'm guessing they came from ebay. Also, I got burned installing halo projekt0r lights. I also broke my old headlights storing them.

as breaker said, you are going to hate them with halogen bulbs. they suck the light out of HID kits, they are going to suck out the little bit of light from halogens. the "projectors" in those lights are actually fog projectors, hence why they are so cheap, they just gobble up the light. If you really want an increase in light output, buy a set of OEM projectors (the actual projectors from inside the headlight units) like RL or TSX or S2K, then do a retrofit, and finally buy a OEM ballast/bulb set or get a decent HID kit (4300k is best).

I installed Halo Projectors on my 95 accord ex and just recently installed HID's 6000k. I had to take out my hazard lights on the front of the bumper, get a long screwdriver and it should be accessable trough the front lower grill, and they should slide out. Then on mine, the side marker lights (the blinker lights next to the headlights) were easy. Its just 1 or 2 screws on the top and they slide foward and out. Then you have to remove the bolts on the bottom of the bumper, some may go right into your splash guard. REMEMBER WHICH BOLTS AND PLASTIC SCREWS GO WHERE. Take a picture if you ahve to. There is a bolt that attaches the bumper to the fender, its on the forward part of the wheel-well. Then there are i believe 4 bolts that you have to take off that are only accessable through the hazard lights slots, you will need probably a good 6-8 inch extension to reach it. I took off my front upper grille also, I cant remember if there were any bolts behind it or not, its not hard to remove anyways. Then the bumper is on a bracket and you may have to lift it (2 person job would be safe) and slide it foward. Then there are a few bolts that hold the headlights in, take them out and your done. Install the new ones and make sure they line up and test them before you put the bumper back on. Make sure that when the bumper goes on, you get it back on the bracket. I dont know if you have halo rings, but some people say that it is better to to wire them to the parking lights. I didnt have enough room to splice into the wires so I wired them so when my car turns on so does my rings. YOU HAVE TO USE A RESISTOR! If not, they will burn out in a few weeks if your lucky. Look around on other threads for what size resistor, but I have them, they were like 60 cents at radio shack, and my halos havent burnt out yet. I've had them for a few months now. I definately recommend getting an HID kit. 6000k looks awsome for me and it doesnt give me any kind of driving fatigue. Hope this helps!

and don't take what I said as bad, retrofitting is the best way to use HID's, BUT using the eBay headlights with an HID kit WILL help your light out put, and its easier than trying to retrofit (which takes a lot of work). I say go for it, and enjoy the better view, just make sure that your projectors have some kind of cut off or you will be pissing people off left and right by blinding them...
