really? well you want to know something? i got under the car on the rack, and pointed out that they were using hte preklude ones, and the guy says "yeah, they fit perfect" i go, i want hte accord ones, he goes why? so i tell him they are slightly longer and with the drop on my car there will be binding of the cv's leading to early failure. except for less than an inch difference in length they are almost the same. also the prelude halfshaft has a female end rather than a male end....

I wonder where people get those ideas from?

The H22a only puts out marginally more torque than the f22, thus there should be NO reason why the accord ones cannot hold up to h22a power since the h22a does NOT put out that much more instantaneous power than an f22. Where the h22 differs is that it revs much higher, but then that shouldnt effect axle strength except in 1st gear if it would ever come down to it.

anyways, if u are considering to shell out $$$ for a h22a typeS, you might as well pickup an h23a off an accord SiR wagon... the extra displacement might be worth your while w/ what I think would be a broader torque curve than a peaky h22a typeS one. Less "peak HP", but probably more overall torque.

97-01 Prelude H22A $1850 usd

the cheaper one is the usdm h22a1 blacktop
the more exspensive one is jdm redtop h22a
the blacktop blows to many resrictions i had one in my rex but opted for the redtop and never looked back
