Default Alpine Deck in 6th Gen Accord

I just bought a 2000 Accord EX about 2 weeks ago and I'm really enjoying it so far. But I'm kinda annoyed with the lack of a decent iPod solution - the FM transmitter thing just doesn't work for me.

Does anyone here have pictures of how an Alpine Deck looks installed in a 6th gen (preferably 2000) Accord Sedan? I'm wondering how it's going to replace the gigantic stereo that already resides in there. Also, anyone out there using the Full Speed iPod Controls? I'd love to see some pictures of how this looks installed.

If there's any other suggestions for running my iPod through the stock stereo, I'm all ears. I'd prefer to keep it as close to stock as possible.

I could take a pic when I get home, but I can tell you it looks just fine. I have a pioneer, not an alpine, and it's way better than stock. You'll want to get a stereo dash kit if you have the double-din stereo, if you have the single-din it should slide right in. My EX had the double din as does many of the EX's so you might have to get the dash kit.

As for the iPOD setup, I don't have one so I couldn't say much about that. I've always just burnt MP3's to CD.

You might get more suggestions if this is put in the "Audio and Security" forum.

That'd be awesome - I want to see what the double din looks like with a single din stereo and dash kit. I also really like the fact that all the controls on the stock stereo are accessible without taking my hand off the shifter. Is it that easy to use on the Pioneer?

I have an Alpine with the Full Speed Connection. I feel that it's leaps and bounds above the Pioneer version. If you get the CDA-9883 or above this year, you'll get percentage search which is a blessing. It gives you direct access to different areas of artist/album/song/playlist lists. It's a godsend if you ask me. Now, my alpine has the Biolite display which makes navigation much easier. I have last years top of the line, the CDA-9857. This year, the CDA-9885 tops out the general consumer decks. I don't consider the CDA-9887 to be a radio for most people due to it's complex setup.

The CDA-9885 is a great deck that does more than my CDA-9857 for $50 less. Which is why I'm looking into upgrading to it.

I'll try to get pictures of it. I don't have an install kit, so I'm using a factory pocket below my radio.

The 99's don't have the audio controls on the steering wheel, or at least mine doesn't. I had no idea you could even integrate the controls from steering wheel controls to an aftermarket stereo.

You can, you just need about 7-sets of hands to program the thing. In the end, it's not worth it. It's an extra $100-$150 part.

Where does the iPod cable come out at in the Alpine deck? I'm assuming out the back? Will I have to do any cutting or drilling?

<- alpine owner here. it's been a few years, but I own the 9855 I believe.

The ipod cable should lead right out of the back. You can easily run it directly under the entire radio console to the cubby hole infront of the shifter.

My full speed connection is in my storage pocket below the radio. I didn't drill, but depending on where you want it you may have to. The back of the radio has a blue connector thats especially made for the Full Speed Connection. It's about $30 for the cable, same as every brand.

That's a nice radio, I should have jumped on that when we carried it.
