I can't remember exactly which model it is. : \ it has the glide control and the upgraded display.

No iPod quick cable on this ... just the older stand-alone unit + cable.

Surprisingly enough, there's a load of room for all of this stuff behind, under, and near the radio console.

Alpine CDA-7845 in a 98 Coupe. I put the factory pocket in to take up the extra space.

So the double din dash kit has the bottom "storage area" that can fit the factory pocket? Looks like it'd be a good place to route my iPod cable through.

Just disregard the above question/statement.

After doing some more digging, it looks like the factory pocket won't fit in the dash kit. I'm sure pretty much everyone except for me knew that. I decided to spring for the CDA-9885 based on totalimmortal's comments.

Thanks for everyone's input on this.

You'll like that radio quite a bit. I'm thinking of getting it myself, unless I get the CDA-9887.

Actually, I didn't use a dash kit. I used the factory bracket and one of the sets of mounting holes on the head unit lined up with the holes in the factory bracket. The factory pocket wasn't a problem either seeing how the factory bracket is meant to go with the factory pocket.

you would use the factory pocket instead of the dash kit

Yeah, after a lot of digging I found that out. Was the factory pocket just another option or was it paired with certain radios?

I'm guessing the best place to get these is the Honda dealership? Any idea how much they cost?

Probably more than a dash kit. Junkyard might be a good option.

Since I ordered from Crutchfield, I got all the cables and dash kit for free. I might try to find a pocket if I don't like the way I'll have to do things with the dash kit.

Since it was free, I won't feel too bad not using the dash kit if I do decide to go that route.
