Default 98 Accord Rear Disk Brake Replacement HELP!!!!

Im trying to replace the rear brakes on a 98 Accord EX with disks in the back. I checked the accord pdf's and they dont seem to be working correctly. I havent been able to find a good DIY out there and dont want to start riping apart the swingarms and whatnot without having a good idea of whats going on back there. Can anyone link me to somewhere with some good pictures, or does anyone have the shop manual avalable for d/l somewhere??? THANKS MUCHO!!!!

Buy a Helms. Will tell you pretty much anything you need to know about your car and what tools you will need.

unbolt the calipers, then remove the two bolts that hold the capliers, then use an IMPACT SCREWDRIVER to remove the two bolts holding the disc in place. DO NOT USE ANYTHING OTHER THAN AN IMPACT SCREWDRIVER.
if you dont, you'll end up posting another thread on how to remove a broken screw from the disc.

What exactly are you trying to do? The EX already has rear disks, so if you're just replacing the calipers, you don't have to mess with any of the suspension links.

All im trying to do is a rear disk replacement. It already has disk brakes in teh back. I was a little perplexed cause I couldent find anywhere to get a wrench in to loosen up the caliper bolts. Sockets with extentions and a rachet? Or shouldent I mess around and go straght for the impact wrench?

OK, there's bolts (#30) in the caliper slide pins, then you can take the caliper & pads off. Then the big bolts (#32) let you take off the caliper bracket. Then the rotor comes off. I don't recall it being difficult to reach any of those bolts...

just replaced the rear wheel bearing on a 98 Accord with disks on the back. Had a bear of a time getting the pads to come off the disk because the disk has a ridge of rusty metal around the edge and the pads didn't want to slide over it. Problem is that now I can't get them back on for the same reason and try as I might I can't compress the hydraulic cylinder back into the caliper. Is there some kind of locking mechanism perhaps in the parking brake?

On the rear, the pistons don't push straight in. You twist them, clockwise like they screw in.

If you've been cranking on them with a C-clamp, you may have already damaged the handbrake auto-adjust mechanism. That stuff is shown lined up from #13 to #16 in that picture.
