Is my Accord messing up?
Today when I came to a complete stop while in D, my 2005 Honda Accord4 cylinder engine started to shake for about 2 seconds and at first I thought I might have been rear ended, only to discover that it was the engine that had caused the disturbance. So far I have not been able to duplicate this problem but I'm worried that it may occur again and leave me stranded. I accelerate slowly (usually between 1900-2200 RPMs), deccelerate slowly as well, and am a conservative driver. Do you guys have any suggestions as to what may have happened?
p.s. I'm not exactly sure but I think I saw the RPMs drop to about 400 and then go back to about 650-700 (the norm for my car) out of my peripheral vision.

It could have been a sip of bad gas. If it keeps on happening then you need to work on your idle speed -- you could do a search on this often-discussed subject.
As a temporary solution, you could shift into neutral if it happens again, and give it some gas.

I had the same problem but after a while when the car got warmer it went away. Now usually I let my 00 warm up and such.
When i was leavin work i would storm off and build up some heat so i wouldnt freeze my ass off cuz it was so cold a week or two ago

Well actually, the car was fully warmed up and had been so for about an hour in 93 degree weather last week. Well the car hasn't shaken since it still concerns me. I'm gonna get it checked out at the dealers. Even though they'll just say "We couldnt duplicate the problem," but thats not the only reason why I am taking it to the dealers.

I bought it new. I also bought the extended warranty which was like 6yrs/100000 mi. or something...i'd have to look at the papers. Well I haven't experienced the problem since, but I am still going to have Honda inspect it.
I know this post is old but in case someone else comes across this problem...
I had something similar happen to me with my '05 accord. I had just come off of the highway and it was hot out so the car was quite hot. The car chugged while I was sitting in drive at stop. It felt like I had been rear-ended and the car kept running. The car drove ok for a bit. Then, the next time I started it, the engine light came on and the car wouldn't go past second gear.
Luckily there was a Honda dealership nearby. It turned out it was a solenoid on my transmission. Unfortunately, I don't know exactly what the part was but it took a few days to get in
. It's been ok since.
