Default iPod interface for '02 Accord with CD changer?

A year ago I researched iPod interfaces for the '02 Accord and found one that claimed to work with a factory radio with 6-disc CD changer--it didn't work. Since then, my search has remained unsuccessful. Has anybody found an iPod interface that does work in that model with that stereo? Right now I'm using a DLO TransPod via a cassette adapter, and it works OK, although I'd prefer a more direct connection for better sound. Steering wheel control is nice but not essential, but a dock-type cable connector would be sweet as I'd not have to keep taking my iPod out of its case (as I now need to do to use the TransPod).

BTW, don't take the FM transmitter route seriously, as it's pretty poor sound quality.

If the '02 6-disc changer also has an XM radio connection, then the Blitzsafe HON/AUX DMX V2.x will work nicely. If not, then I don't now.

Edit: the model I mentioned is just an RCA jack model, but Blitzsafe also has a model with an iPod dock connector instead.

Yeah, I figured not.

Wait, is the CD changer in question a trunk mounted one? If so, the solution is easy. Just get an adapter (such as from Blitzsafe) that is designed to plug into the CD changer port, then there should also be some sort of Y-cable available so that you can have both the AUX and the CD changer. I'm not sure of this fact, but again,t here is such a Y-cable for the XM, so why not one for the trunk changer?

Sorry I'm not much help. I've owned 4th, 5th, and 7th gen Accords, but I have next to zero experience with 6th gens.

No, it's all in the dash. I'm beginning to think the only solution is a new car stereo, a route I'd rather not go. Thanks for your suggestions.

I dunno, man.... I have a feeling I was right all along. This Blitzsafe one should work just fine, as it says it works on 6th gens with an indash changer. http://www.logjamelectronics.com/bli...ink1dmxv1.html

What you probably need to do is pull out your head unit (or look at a schematic/ask a honda dealer) and see if you have an open 14-pin connector. It's a small wiring harness plug that's about half the width of the main one.

since the 01-02 head units had cassette and 6cd changer.... there is no aux input on the back

either:
buy a fm transmitter
buy a fm modulator
trade your HU for a single disc 98-00 EX HU
buy an aftermarket unit.

I decided to go with an aftermarket unit for much better sound and really nice built-in iPod integration. I thought I'd miss the changer for "emergency tunes" for when I don't have my iPod, but it plays MP3 and even AAC (MP4) files, so I get a lot of music on a single disc. My main concern with with the aftermarket approach was theft, but in hindsight, the benefits clearly outweigh the risk, at least for now.

Only thing is the guy does not have the indash 6 cd changer but a single cd player.

I now have a new stereo and the old one (with changer) is on a shelf in my garage. There is definitely only one connector for a harness, and I understand you need a second connector for the iPod adapter. The new stereo sounds way better, and having it display the track title, etc., on the stereo is great. Where I used to have a changer, I now have a storage area for CDs. Something I hadn't thought of is that MP3/AAC CDs hold many more songs than a standard CD, so I really don't miss the changer. With better sound, better iPod integration, and more flexibility with CDs, I'm actually glad the iPod adapters for the factory stereo didn't work.

I do appreciate everyone's suggestions, though. Thanks!
