It's pretty cut and dry. Disconenct hoses, reconnect hoses. They come with isntructions.

AEM SRI is the way to go. You can find them for $94.

Sorry for the threadjack. You can have it back now, without ransom.

All you need is a screwdriver and a socket wrench. It's the easiest mod you'll ever do.

I just spoke with someone at work. He said Honda engines especially Accords are designed with sensitive sensors. He said modding with something like AEM SRI will change the temperature of the air Accord engine is designed to pull in. By switching to an aftermarket product, one can widen the air temp range the engine was designed to handle. It may cause irreversible damage to the engine.

He said that being it's not a turbo engine, it doesn't need a SRI. Plus it's only a SRI which doesn't do much except looking cute when one opens the hood.

No offense to him, but that is by far the stupides thing I have heard so far today. Tell him to take a thermodynamics class before spouting off.

"sensitive" sensors? I love it. So he's saying that if it's 90 degrees outside, the Accord engine will automatically shut off because it's sensors are so sensitive? But with an SRI it will keep running and cause horrible damage? :lmao: Great. Your car doesn't even have a MAF sensor. Ask him which sensors are so sensitive. I love saying that.

The benefits of an SRI are increased throttle response and increased airflow (more torque across the rev range) due to the slightly wider than stock tubing, far less restrictive path to the TB, and the less restrictive filter. The only downside is that it is noisier than stock and may get dirty faster because it doesn't have the plastic box and resonator shielding it.

So because where I live, in Misery, the summer temps reach 110 and the winter temps -10 that means I must be doing damage to my car whenever I drive in those temperature extremes? :screwy:

i have the exact same car and i bought an AEM short ram intake for it and i gotta say...its nice. No NOTICEABLE power gain but the sound is amazing, sounds like a sport car (so ive been told) It also increased my gas mileage...and its better than a CAI because you dont have to worry about getting water into it. Do yourself a favor get a short ram , if not AEM than INjeN
