i was also thinking that it might have led to clutch wear and tear but the clutch isnt showing any signs of wear. all the gears are gripping smoothly except for sometimes the reverse. it also grinds very rarely when i'm going from 2nd to 3rd but i'm positive that i'm just pulling my foot up before i fully engage into 3rd. i'm gonna take it back to my mechanic and tell him to bleed the system once more and if he objects and decides to try and tell me i need a new clutch, i'll find a second opinion and a new mechanic. i dont think i can be paying another 500-600 for a new clutch when i paid 500 already for a new master and slave cylinder...

Your clutch could be bad as well, a going pressure plate might allow the disc to grip just fine. But the pedal travel could be compromised.

But given that the Accord's clutch is self adjusting as it wears, I'd bleed the system again, and again if needed to be sure. Then look at replacing the clutch after you look at the slave cylinder as well.

well i took my car back to the mechanic and he told me that my clutch pedal was suppsoed to feel like that. he said that the looseness preserves the clutch...? a little sketchy. i'm pretty sure the pedals not supposed to have as much free play as it does now. correct me if i'm wrong but isnt the clutch pedal supposed to be firm all throuhgout. theres about 1 to 2 inches of free play at the top. then when i lift up on the clutch it gets stuck (not compeltely but its sticky) where the firmness and looseness meet (????). i dont know how to describe this any better. sorry for such repetitive posts but i am honestly lost and i dont know what to do.

thanks for all the help

First thing I would do, find a new mechanic...

Did the pedal return all the way up before the replacement of the master cylinder? It should go floor to top of travel all on it's own rather briskley, the return spring alone should do that.

He's yanking your chain, and figures you're full of it.

If you don't know of a good local guy, give the dealer a try at this point. It's a start...

a new mechanic would sound great but i've had such bad luck with finding new mechanics. when i first got my car i went to a different mechanic for a check engine light. they failed 5 times to fix it correctly so i couldnt pass my emissions inspection and get my tag before 30 days (not to mention charging 70+ dollars every time). i had to go back to this same guy and he fixed it but i've always been suspicious.

before my master cylinder began leaking, the clutch would be firm and lift up in one fluid motion.... after the repair when i lift up, instead of a fluid push back it gets sticky halfway... doesnt stick completely but it pops up if i pull my foot away.

ugh the nearest honda dealership to me is about 15 miles away.... so i plan to go to a couple different shops and get a diagnostics. car problems are so stressful:upset:

I'd say have new mechanic bleed the system again, bleeding a clutch is a 2-man job and it can take some time, especially if you replace the master cylinder. Else you have an improperly installed MS.

I'm telling you drive the 15miles to honda for a look at the thing...
