Default Wheel Alignment Question.

Hi, yeah I've search but I could not find an answer to my question.

My question is that if I get a wheel alignment with my stock wheels (for Honda accord 96 Lx) and a week later I put some 18 inch rims... do I need to get another wheel alignment?

Your question is a little mixed...
Wheel BALANCE is just the wheel... so yes you would have to get the 18's balanced as well.
Car ALIGNMENT you would not have to get it redone when you change to the 18's... unless you modify the suspension (i.e. lower the car)

so are you getting your car aligned, or your wheels balanced?

If you are doing the alignment, you'll still need to make sure that your wheels are balanced, otherwise you will get shaking on the steering wheel, and uneven tire wear.

If you are paying 60 dollars, I'm guessing you are talking about car alignment. But from the sounds of it, you should really do some reserach , because when you switch to the 18s you are going to end up with a 4x4 accord if you don't lower it, at which point you will need to get it aligned again. Wheel balance are pretty cheap.

When you get your wheels installed, they will balance it for you because you cannot drive in peace without a balance. You dont need to get your alignment done if you just put new wheels.
For the Alignment, most places give you a 90 Days warranty for the alignment and in some states they even offer a life-time warranty for a little bit extra money.

i think u still need an alignment becuz the offset and the width of the wheels might not match the oem specs therefore only the rear inner tire will wear out uneven and i dont think the front

the width and offset are not related to alignment.

uneven tire wear is the effect of altering the suspension of the car (and to some effect...normal wear and tear).

If the new wheels are balanced... they can be swapped in without anything extra.

The thing is that I boughg the Tires and the rims seperately.. so I took them to a place where they deal with tires and what not.... and I told they to put the tires on the rims and I also told them to balanced the rims. But I did not put on the rims on the car... I am going to do so very soon (myself).

So with this said I have another question... once the rims are balanced.... do i ever have to balanced them again.???.. i.e after certain amount of miles...etc.

Nope once they are balanced you shouldn't have to worry about doing them again unless one of the weights fall off. Besides that your good to go!!

Just in case you don't know what the weights are, they are the little rectangular metal things that are sticked to the back of the ring
