sorry if im frustrating you with this but based on the links provided and what i've found there is no diagram to tell or show me where this solenoid is.
The information im reading is very broad. im trying to avoid going to honda so I could at least save myself 180 dollars for the diagnostics charge.

It may seem frustrating since you the only one helping me and im not understanding it since my knowledge in mechanics isnt as advanced as yours.

shift solenoid valve A - that could be the problem but i dont know where it's located. whether its external to the tranny shell or internal.
If its just a plug or something I could probably just buy one and swap it myself. That i dont know because the threads I've found and read dont point to where its located. I dont have a helms or any service manual.

i found this diagram: http://www.hondaautomotiveparts.com/...ENSOR-SOLENOID

It has nothing to do with knowledge it has to do with using the search button, but you don't even have to do that since i already gave you the two links to threads with information about the solenoids. You could have never even posted this thread and known everything you could possibly know (from Helms/alldata, same info) just by searching the P0740.

the problem was i didnt scroll all the way down on one of those links to view the image of where the solenoids are.... :slap:

the problemwas i was first searching for the P0700 code then realized that there was another code.

Clearly my error.

well after resetting the battery the CEL light never came back on.
So far i've driven about 5-8 miles since last night till this A.M and the CEL light never came on. I dont feel the jerking involved when switching from 1st to 2nd gear anymore.
Im going this afternoon to my friends shop and hes going to use his OBD reader to see if anything seems wrong.

this is strange
