Default check engine light code: 70?

Well my cel came on last night and this morning i used the guide 98coupev6 has regarding how to diagnose the codes.

I jumped the connector and only got 7 long flashes on the CEL indicator.
I looked it up and it says automatic transaxle

wtf is that? better yet, how much is it.

can anyone shed some light as to what this means.

02 accord sedan 4cyl. 94k miles.

based on this article
http://auto.consumerguide.com/Auto/U...ewreliability/

should I just take it to honda to look at?
I dont abuse the car. If anything i drive long distances.
I did purchase that extended warranty which ended at 75k.

Post it in that thread with the corresponding P-code (first search for the P code) and I'll scan in my Helms later for you.

70 has somthing to do with the trans...but is very generic also the D4 light should flash since it's a trans problem, to get a the true code that will narrow down the problem your going to need a scanner your local autozone is a good place for a free code read. as honda's factory codes tends to telll you the ares of the problem but the sae (P-code) will narrow down your search butmostlikely it's a tranny problem .

P0700 = Transmission Control System Malfunction

EDIT:......IVE been searching and searching and searching. What I've found from other posts on the net regarding different cars but with the same error code is the actual transmission control module needed to be replaced.
I hope thats the case because I'd rather pay ( estimate 200-300 bucks vs. what it would cost for a tranny replacement etc. ) does anyone know where I could possibly find this unit.

I think there was an additional code that it spat out but the tech only wrote down p0700.

Make sure you have the correct D4 code too.

Pep boys won't read the tranny code, only the CEL, and are you aware you are fully capable of gathering the codes yourself?
