Correct, electronic cruise control will improve mileagein most conditions.
driving 70-75 isn't too bad. You'll get slightly better mileage at 65-70, but it's typically only a 1-2 mpg difference.

Anything over 65 is hurting it, but 70 isn't bad.
I have a 95 4 cyl also. I got 33 mpg driving through the tangled web of interstates in Atlanta for 40 miles recently.
My car is not a cream puff, but I am surprised at the mileage it still gets. I have only had one fill-up and that was to check the mileage at 140 miles. I've only got 165 more miles on a tank now, all city driving. We will see in another week or so what the real deal is.

I get my best MPG cruising 75-80. I usually get between 28 and 30. Below that or above that I tend to get 26-27. This confuses me as well.
One trip from NYC to Syracuse I got 30.5 MPG doing between 75-90 the whole way behind fast traffic and I hit 135 on an empty downhill stretch...that was weird

My mpg sucks. Back when my car still counted miles, I was getting down to E at around 200 miles. My exhaust killed the mpg. I used to get close to 300 a tank. Kind of why I want to change exhaust systems for something closer to stock.

I think I remember reading an auto magazine like back in high school where the authors tried to get the best MPG...and they found the best was had by acclerating up to speed, then coasting down to like 5, accelerating again, etc. Something like that...but it's a fuzzy memory at best.
