7th Generation Gear Stick (Auto) (merged threads)

I wasnt fond of the boot myself until i put it on....looks way better than stock and doesnt void the warranty by cutting soomething.
Hi,
Where did you get the boot and shiter? I would like to order it. Was it difficult to install shifter and the boot?
Thx
I bought the shifter and boot at a local store, but I have seen them on Ebay.

There are many styles of knobs for automatics...its your choice, just dont get it too long or the boot looks funny all sqaushed . The boot has red stiching on it and looks great with the 05 tan interior. Good luck

Hey Accord 2005
Been out of town....I do not know where my gf bought this knob. Some retailer in Montreal(I am in Canada). Total $125 Can. It comes with 4 rubber adapters for different thikness of shift levers and 3 allen screws that hold the knob securely on the lever. installation itself is a piece of cake. Do not worry about stock button being on the side. MOMO knob has a button on top and it works flawlessly. Actually when you push on the stock button at the end ofthe motion it ends up pushing on top of the lever anyway. The are 2 mods needed: one is to cut the lever about 2 inches shorter so the whole assembly does not look like it came from F150 Super Duty truck
, but if it does not matter to you you can leave it the way it is. The other one is to shorten that black plastic sleeve that goes over the lever itself. It's being held by a screw. You will have to play with the length a bit, but eventually you will get it right.
Dremmel tool will do the job. If you have access to air tools, that will cut the time in half. Took me about 45 min to get things done, including taking it off and putting it back on trying to figure out the right length.
One thing to remember, when you are ready to do the final install after all this cutting and measuring, make sure you do not press on the gear button or push on the knob itself beyond the point where it just touches the lever. I made this mistake and could not start the car cuz it would still think it's in gear.
BTW awesome knob, feels, looks and works great.
Cheers
