I will do so as soon as I get one in the morning. It looks pretty good IMO.

You can also do a search in the meantime on the DIY automatic shiftboot conversion. This is where I got the idea from.

Yeah that momo one doesn't look bad...they make pretty nice looking and good quality aftermarket shift knobs. Even though they all seem really 'tall' when installed, but I guess that goes away when you cut the shift lever down.

As far as shift boots on an automatic...ehh...reminds me too much of type-r stickers and Pontiacs. Although Hondas in australia (I think) come with them.

Accord2005: Any shifter with a pushbutton and the correct thread size will fit your assembly.

Hi,

So I would have to by the MOMO shifter and also some sort of conversion boot? Is the purpose of this conversion boot to keep that side button on the current auto-shifter constantly pressed (as I noticed that Momo shifter does not have the side button?).

Please pardon my lack of knowledge on the subject and thank you for whatever guidance you can provide me with.

Hi 98,

I am sorry to take your time, but with this Momo shifter, where is the "side" button? Is the purpose of the conversion boot to eliminate this? Is "doing" the conversion complicated? And finally, do I need to cut anything off with this Momo shifter.

I apologize for my numerous questions.

The button is actually the entire shifter. It works like the old or new Vw's you push down to change gears. And as far as the threads....there are none on the 7th gen A/T shifters. The knob doesnt really look good alone without some kind of boot or cutting/shortning of the shift rod. Thats why i put the boot on. I wasnt fond of the boot myself until i put it on....looks way better than stock and doesnt void the warranty by cutting soomething.

The boot is only to make it look better. It has nothing to do with the knob.
