The make you laugh$$$ Honda tool and the Napa tool, which is made by a company called Tool-Aid part no. TA-61900. I've still got one contact left in Ohio that works at a Honda dealer I'll see if he can hook me up for much less, else I'll purchase said other tool.

Tommorow I'm flushing the brake the system, I'll check all the joints for wear then. And decide if I'll even swap the new SPC kit in or go back to stock and install the Ingalls lower kits.

New ball joint boots can be had from Honda for $2.50 + another $3.90 for the retainer clip. The tool needed to installt he clips is $80 bucks, sigh.......I'll just buy a new kit then
Interesting about the two tools...I would just get the generic type unless you can get that Honda one for less than $50. I've popped UBJ, LBJ on our cars, some LBJ's on my buddy's 325i, etc with my generic one, and it has fit all of those, even with the fixed hinge.

About replacing the boots...do you think you really need that $80 tool? I guess after pressing in and out a couple boots, removing boots to see the damaged ball joint inside, I just really don't think it would be necessary, but maybe I'm missing something.

Yeah, I'm not sure you would need the tool either but what ever per Honda right. I looked at mine during the break fluid flushed they need changed. So Either I'm going to swap the new SPC's in soon or install the Ingalls kit. I'll keep you posted.

OK Schmiddy I found that part for a little bit cheaper online:
$162 from Honda-parts.net

I still may pass on this, but I do have a fettish for expensive tools in my tool box

I'll swing by Napa today But I thought I'd post this info for others.

Anyone in Chicagoland willing to lend me a hand on ripping my suspesion apart, my trunk monkey ran away and my wife refuses to let me buy another unreliable Gibbon.......

I like working with a buddy, then someone can jack the car back up when slips off the stands falls on top of you......

4hours 42mins, 299miles. to my house......

I'm not sure that MapQuest includes or even gives you the option to fairy over Lake MI options either, that would lower the mileage. Hey if you're serious you are more then welcome to crash at our place for a weekend visit. We have a guest room

I'd never take the ferry...I took one once and it was more trouble than it was worth (very expensive and painfully slow, haha). How far are up up the lake? Maybe I'll take a trip out some weekend this fall if my workload from classes isn't too big. I've never been down to Chicago.

Seriously...just get the freaking Napa one haha. Spend your extra money on something more fun than the Honda tool.

Yeah, I know what you mean about working with a friend, it's a lot less boring. And I like having someone to thread the nuts on the topmount as you stick it up through the shock tower, and also someone to step on the spindle to give you that last coupe cm to pull the spring/shock assembly out...makes it a bit easier.

I'd be there for ya buddy...cause I still owe you for the TL-S wheel hookup, but it's a bit far for me.

Don't worry about it....I'll find someone to lend a hand, thousands of H-A folks and even a few live nearby. How far a drive is it for you to Leguna Seca raceway? I'll be there for the ALMS race in Oct.

Pretty far...700 miles. Just going for fun, or is it a work related trip?

I'm flying out for mini vacation, a buddy and myself are going to the ALMS final race of the season at Leguna. He also wants to visit San Fran again for a day, he likes the city. I keep threatning him I'll rent a pink Miata for us to tool around in San Fran He is not amused.
