I just purchased a 99 Accord EX V6 coupe and I had with me This Day Forward - Transient which is the real disc, and a burned underOATH disc. The cd player plays the real copy fine, but couldn't play the burned disc. The strange thing is that our family owns a 00 Accord EX i4 sedan and every disc burned played fine in that thing. I am currently using RiTEK cd-r's from newegg, which are supposed to be pretty good. I'm not sure if different brands matter, but I will try discs from different manufacturers (pro-disc, CMC, and even the expensive Taiyo Yudens) to see if it works...

Thank god my new coupe has a cassette player, might as well forget about cd-r's and just buy an ipod or zen micro...
Like I said, this sixth generation Accord head unit, made by Alpine for Honda, simply has trouble reading some brands of CD-R and WONT play CD-RWs at all. The Maxell Music Pro's Im using for my compilation mixes take at least three to five minutes for the laser to read, but they eventually work.

Yeah, it works alright with the RiTEK's I have if I let it read for a minute, then it will play through the CD fine (just can't skip tracks else it would read for another minute).

I just purchased some uber expensive Taiyo Yuden blanks, which are heralded by cd nerds (cdfreaks.com) as the best in the world. Hope that works.

I use the '01-'02 6cd changer head unit(Panasonic made I think?) and I have no problems whatsoever with CD-R's. Using memorex cd's and recording at full 48X speed. Mine also plays cd-rw's, something that should not be supported

The old HU I replaced had this problem with CD-R's. I seem to remember using imation brand, and burning at 4X and had some success I think.
