2004 Accord EX 4Cyl Problems Please Help!
hello, name's Sean.
i currently have a 2004 honda accord EX sedan 4 cylinder.
There are so much problems with my accord and it's only a year old.
I knew i should have bought the acura tsx,,, with the expense... but it's too late for that..
there are at least 5 problems with it..
1. There's an air leakage sound coming from the front passenger (right) side.... it's really annoying unless u turn on some music... this sound comes near where the side mirrors are... i can't feel any air coming in though..
2. And also... my trunk makes a funny sound... such as cranking. for about 3 times whenever the trunk is fully opened. but this sound only occurs a few times.
3. main problem...i experienced this problem several times..whenever i start the car.. i can hear a grinding noise coming from the left driver's air vent.. does it have anything to do with the spark plugs??
4. GRabbing noise from brakes when fully stopped. and also when releasing the brakes from fully stopped.
5. This i guess i can get it fixed from the dealer...my front doors make a creaking noise when fully opened or positioned in the middle.
6. My sunroof makes a annoying noise when closed. i pushed the sunroof (when closed) and it made the noise..i think it needs to be oiled up..
i went to the dealership several times...but they couldn't fix it...
i paid lots of money for nothing.
i thought my car was under warranty but they've taken some money..
-_- need help..
thanks. comments will be appreciated.

1. Open your passenger door and check the rubber gasket to make sure it is properly installed. It may also have a pinch or wrinkle that could cause the imperfect seal.
2. Strange description - you need to give more info.
3. When does this happen? When you are turning the key, after it is started, after you put it in drive? Are you sure it is coming from the air vent? Does it happen every time? What is your a/c system set on when this happens? Could it be the ABS self-check, which is a little 2-3 second viibration / grinding every time you put your car in gear for the first time?
4. Grabbing noise will go away eventually, maybe even after they get wet a few times. Pads need to wear down a litttle.
5. I get the creaking noise also - they just need a little white lithium grease sprayed onto them. This is not a big deal. it is part of the standard maintenance schedule.
6. Determine if it is the rubber weatherstripping or the metal tracks/mechaniusm. If it is the rubber, a little silicone spray should solve it. If the track/mechanism, a little grease. This one should be easy for the dealer to identify and solve.
Relax...these are normal bugs that get worked out. And try other dealers - they aren't all terrible.

Try a different dealership. The one you're going to is garbage. Your car is covered bumper to bumper for 3 years, 36,000 miles, so most of this stuff should be taken care of for free. (not act of god or road condition issues though)
If you're still having unknown problems and the dealer has clear documentation of things that couldn't be fixed ... take it to a laywer and have the lemon law put into effect.
Honda's are terrific cars over all ... seems like you hit the 1% defect percentile though. :happysad:

lol thanks a lot.
so far... i have fixed the sunroof problems.
My brakes made this sound since the time i picked up my car as new from the dealership.
They say that this is normal for all accords because they've put softer brake pads for all 2003~2004 accords.
This isn't killer problems but it would be pleasant to get rid of.. so anyway thanks a lot!
for the trunk problem. it's not really a big deal.
but a cranking sound can be heard whenever the trunk reaches its limit (open)

for the grinding noise...problem no 3.
the sound is made when starting the car, it does not occur frequently but very disturbing when occured. to be specific, it makes the sound right after the key is turned to start from on.
i'm not sure if it comes from the air vent.. but it's from the left side of the steering wheel. A/C system is at the off position.
and also i don't think it's the ABS self check. thanks anyway!

Trunk - I can't even conceive of what you mean by a cranking sound in the trunk. Is it repetitive? How long does it last? Is it hinge related? Coming from the rear speakers? Can you narrow down the general location of the noise?
service bulletin 03-069 on fr brake grab or judder machine rotors replace frt. pads first time next time replace frt rotors

Your trunk sounds like a creaky trunk springs my buddy has this on his TSX ha ha see spending more wouldn't fix this issue.
His issue is being fixed by replacement of the plastic clip on the rear deck that hold the torsion springs. Does your Accord have a spoiler? His likely started this after the spoiler install.
I hardly think your car is a lemon, I have yet to see a single problem in your post that couldn't be solved by a compotent-caring dealership. Go to a new dealer, I had a bad dealer experience for a warranty claim once almost made me part with the Accord. Cheer up and find a new dealer you will be much happier.
