I am thinking about doing the same thing, been talking with Zidek, and there is so much to do. If you just get the retro kit and put it into your stock housing, you'll scatter the light and blind oncoming drivers. Since your stock housing wasn't intended for HID bubls. Checkout the website and the forums, alot of into in there.

Anyone who's familiar with cars will know if a car stocks one bulb for both high/low beam and two separate bulbs. I've seen those dual filament HID bulbs, and I've also seen the asking price

No aftermarket HID lights are legal for use in the USA that's why they do not allow manufacture of them here anymore . most shops that sell them import them from canada and other places out of the U.S. you can get pulled over for them it's a federal offense too. but as long as they are aimed correctly and doesn't blind others more then stock HIDs it is rare that you will get pulled over for them .

it is true that the kits are technically no longer legal in the states.

i agree. oem retrofits are the only way to go for HID conversions.

I have 10K hids on my 04 accord in the stock housing. I get high beamed about once a week due to the glare. I never been pulled over by cops, dispite driving behind them a couple of times. Go with a retro or JDM Imspire headlights. I am going for a Q45 Retro with S2K in the brights soon. $$$

Why in the world would anyone buy 10k hid? is ugly it blind everything and everyone and the light output is really bad, the 6000k is the only HID kit that will look like stock and the light output is 10,000 better than a 10k hid. If u want color from ur lights then get the 8k, is a little blue and still has good light output but u can still tell is some aftermark HID.
I seen the 7th gen accord coupe with 8k hid n stock housing and is not that bad especially when compare to the 10k hid which is horrible purple.
