Default no spark..

My friends 89 accord-efi has no spark. He said it just quit on him near his house and now it won't start. has 410k miles on it and I don't have the slightest clue when he replaced anything with the ignition last. anyway... no spark and there is voltage coming to the coil, so the wiring until then should be good. I am thinking the distributer or coil are bad. I have a multimeter, however I don't have the slightest clue what the ohms are supposed to for the coil and dist. also.... if I pull the spark plug wire that goes to the distributer off the coil, the coil doesn't pop when turned over, like many other cars I have worked on do. Any help would be great, if anyone knows off hand what ohms the coil and dist. should have. or anyother predictions or help, I would appreciate it. thanks..

Replace the coil and ignitor. 410k = replace everything.

Could be the starter too if the car won't start. Will it not start when it's hot or first thing. The starter has a start and a run position. Sometimes the starter will burn up and get stuck in the run position which will not allow the car to start easily.

However, I'm also of the opinion that if regular maintenance has not been done or no one is sure when it was done last then I would do all that sort of stuff now and then that way you know. Dist. cap, wires, spark plugs, rotor button, coil, and even a good ol' oil change too.... ;-)

it isn't the starter....it turns over. it just has no spark. The coil isn't sparking, but the hot wire has voltage to it. I tried another coil from another accord, but it wouldn't spark either. the yellow and black wire going to the coil is showing about 12 volts and I am getting ohms from what I would assume to be the ground, which is the blue wire. The coil isn't putting out any spark. Is there something else that can cause the coil not to spark even if there is voltage coming to it.
