Not even 400 miles and already this?
Hi, 2005 Accord LX 4 cyl US.
Not even 400 miles (320 to be exact) and already when I am making sharp steering wheel turns (i.e. going below 30 miles per hour in a 90 degree turn) left and right (and even not so sharp) there is a noise coming from the front end that sounds like that metalic cranking noise you hear in an old ship.
Does anyone have any idea what this could be?
Thank you in advance.

Well... I've heard that the first 1,000 miles are where you find out what's tight and what's not.
Sometimes things just need a little adjustment. I would guess it's the power steering but I could be wrong n' shit.

Hi,
I don't think its power steeting because it only does it in sharp turns when the car is in motion and "leaning". When I move steering wheel left-right sharply while the car is not moving, the same problem does NOT appear.
I just hope that it is nothing serious (i.e. f..cked up suspension), joints or something else.
Any other ideas?

Here's a great idea. Seeing as though the car is obviously still under warranty, why don't you take it to the dealer and have THEM deal with it? No, the noise is not normal, but the car comes with a warranty for a reason.

ever thought about since the car is brand new things need to brake in?
I know when my friends tranny was replaced they told him to drive it under a certain rpm and speed so it can break in the new parts.

Could be the springs need to be lubed. My accord is 10+ years old and does this. The honda tech checked it out and said that the suspension needed to be lubed and this fixed the problem. Especially apparent during winter.
I hope it is not a clicking noise. Try making the turn with and without accelerating and see if the noise occurs. This could indicate a problem with the CV joints which can tear.

I found that when I installed new springs on my old accord that it "creaked" a little bit for the first hundred or so miles before they got "broken in". However, I do not know if this is the case - best bet, take it back to the dealer and ask them about it.
