Hi Guys,
I wasn't trying to be a smart a...s just to crack a joke. I gotta admit I am very upset. I did not buy a Honda to have problems like this (continue reading). I have 2002 Camry and never a problem with that car.
Anyway, took the car to the dealer, and TWO mechanics looked at it for FIVE hours (while I was waiting) and came up empty. The checked the wheels, under the car and all and nothing. The only thing they did was machine rotors (after only 300 miles???) but that did not fix the problem. In New Jersey if they cannot fix it the next time I can file for a lemon. It takes 2-3 months but I will do it.
Spoke to selling dealer and told him this. Sealing dealers then said that Main Service Manager will contact me on Monday and try to resolve the issue. If not we may have to get "Honda involved" (at which point I am involving an attorney).
I am just very upset and bitter about the whole thing. And not to offend any Accord Lovers, but I was gonna get another Camry but thought, hey, Accord is top quality - its the same thing. Apparently not. I don't know - -it does not bother me that the car needs some fix/adjustment. What bothers me is that two Honda mechanics looked at it (at times I was with them) for five hours and came up completely empty. That is the scary part.
Thx again.

i've had some bad experiences with honda dealers and their mechanics. with my car (95 accord, bought used two years ago), a honda dealer called me after i dropped the car off for a free inspection. they informed me that my brake pads, front and rear, were almost entirely gone and that i needed to replace them IMMEDIATELY. i thought that was funny, because i had just bought the car and the owner had service records telling me the brakes had been replaced within the last 18 months. so i told them i'd just wait, and the guy sounded kind of irritated and told me to avoid driving the car as much as possible.
so i took it to two different mechanics later on, and they both told me i had more than 60% left on the front and the rear!
in a separate incident, my friend bought an 04 civic a few months ago. first it had an alignment problem - car drifted left noticably. honda pretty much refused to give it an alignment. they wouldn't even measure the alignment. they just kept checking the tire pressure over and over again, and telling her that her tires were fine, and to come back at 1000 miles if the problem didn't go away. and the alignment is still off..
anyways i'm sorry you're having a bad experience with the accord. but i'm willing to bet that it could also just be the mechanics/dealers that are just trying to avoid doing extra work. hopefully if you threaten to get an attorney involved, or file the lemon claim they'll look a little harder.
and then again, maybe there really is nothing wrong with your car, and the problem could be solved by one of the simple solutions people have posted. :dunno:
good luck!

I took my Honda to a honda dealer here in australia, and had a "full service" done that cost me $1100 AU. I noticed an oil leak and took it back to them within a week, they took off the covers and showed me under the car how "the oil leak was coming from in between the torque converter and the trans. To fix it they would have to take off the whole right wheel & suspension and take the trans out. And this would cost me $600". I told them that was crap, first of all because they didnt notice it in the service, and looking at the oil trail from underneath it looks like the oil was just spilt on top of the engine, and leaked through, then followed the covering shield until it was dripping out the underneath. A few days later the leak stopped. last time i go back there. The honda is a great car, but the service department is a joke sometimes
Well. finaly resolution to this crisis. I went back to Honda dealer and demanded my money back. And guess what? They were actually very nice and asked me if I would reconsider if they gave me another (new) car. I said ok. So, now I am the (I trully hope a proud) owner of a 05 black accord.
I am keeping my fingers crossed this time. Thanks for all your posts guys (and gals).

Hope you have the best of luck with the new car. I'm glad they hooked you up with the black one.
From my experience, don't wait on the car at the dealership. Go for a walk and get a meal and a magazine.

I hope your new new car makes you happy.
With my 03, I needed my alternator replaced within 1000 miles. Car literally started shutting down when I was out on a date with the soon to be wife. Stuff happens man!
