When I first got it and it wasn't performing the way I thought it would, they kept telling me it was the computer needing to adjust for a few thousand miles. I'm over 13K now and it hasn't changed.

I originally wanted a Civic EX but gave into the pressure to get an Accord. That's the last time I go against my instinct on a car.
Well if you bought the car because you were "pressured" into it, then of course you aren't going to like it, and you'll find reasons to complain. I think that's just human nature.

If it really bugs you, then lose the car and get the Civic you wanted.

How many miles are on it? You've gotta break it in first. You won't get within the EPA rating until you're past break-in. My 02 EX got lousy mileage until it hit about 6,000 miles. Then it shot it right up and does 30 MPG with a mix of city and highway. Give it time, it'll grow on you. Certainly more substantial than a Civic. Look on the brightside - if you ever get into an accident, you're not looking at almost certain death like you would be in a Civic.

As far as my driving, I worried about that in the beginning. My Civic was noisier, obviously, and I drive by sound. The Accord is quieter (not bitching, just noting) and I had to get used to that. But I've adjusted.

If I win the lottery, maybe I won't give a crap about the gas mileage. I consider it a challenge to get as much as I can out of my car and I am frustrated that I can't get more out of it.

how do you not like the accord compared to the civic? eventhough the accord you got is the lowest trim in the accord family but it has to be better then a civic.. my cousin has a civic, i think 2002 and everytime i get a ride from her, the civic doesn't even come close to my 1999 accord v6.. ride, comfort, speed, just overall everything.. i think your smoking something..

accords are more "luxurious" than the civic, i love my 6th gen, the 7th gens don't look as nice (maybe because they need time to "grow" on me, but they're not terrible) --> my mom has an 04 EX with *all* the bells and whistles, and my only gripe about the 7th gens is their radio controls (with the NAV system), the tuner is WAY too sensitive, you can't turn the knob "one" click unless you're completely stopped--> otherwise, esp. if you go over a bump, the dial turns about 400,000 clicks and you go way past the station you wanted, that frustrated me a lot, and still does. IMO, the Accord has more bling than the civic, and is overall, a much better car-- more room, faster (although this depends), more luxurious-in both ride and in interior asthetics.

I think age has a lot to do with it to. I would guess the thread starter is a fairly younger person. I know when i was younger i could drive a trash can on wheels and the noise and comfort level meant next to nothing to me. I'm probably considerably older than most at this forum, and at this point in my life this has changed drastically. Noise and comfort now are paramount and worth the extra cost of the car and gas. I have a 2001 Civic coupe that to me sounds like a jet and rides like the economy car that it is. This is why i'm at the moment searching for a deal on a 2004 Accord. Add to the comfort factor the extra power, the leather option, (which i'm getting) and all the other little perks like key with built in remote, alarm, steering wheel mounted controls for radio and cruise, etc etc, and i really don't see any comparrison. But again, the older you get the more important the accor's features become. hell, when i was younger i didn't even care about power windows.......now i can't live w/o them. (i realize civics have that, but just an example of how you change with age as preferences go)

I know what you're saying. I actually took the A/C out of my first car to save weight and H.P., and this is where we have 100 deg. summer days...heh heh.

I could have bought a 2 door Civic EX and had enough money left over to do some trick stuff to it, but I wanted a car we (family) could travel in with more comfort. It depends on your priorities.

Accords can be modded with practically anything the Civics can, so for a little more money we could have our cake and eat it too. Or, for those who have more cash, eliminate the modding and go get an Acura sedan.

Haha, it's kinda backwards with me. I currently have a 4 dr 5th Gen Accord, and I was looking at the Scion tC (2 door coupe/hatchback) as a possible next car. I'm used to my Accord and the practicality of having 4 doors and being able to fit people comfortably. After some thinking, and because my mommy said no, I'm not going to get the tC. So imma drive my whip till something breaks again (I had to get my ignition switch and this other steering componant replaced... $280).
