Finish First and other products of the like (Liquid Glass, Duragloss) have been discussed before on Autopia.org. Out of all the products I have tried, all the products my boss has tried, all the products that various other detailers have tried (professional and weekender), nobody has recommended them.

There used to be a ton of nut-riding of Finish First on this board, but it has died down. Polymer sealants do NOT bond with the paint. There is no chemical reaction, and thusly it is a semi-permanant coat of protection.

Scroll down to the bottom and back up to Chris Webmaster's first post plugging Finish First. I think I gave good reasons why one should not spend money on the product, and should spend their money on things that will actually be able to remove/fill swirl marks and a wax after to give a lasting shine.

The perfect finish is not a product, it's a process. Until that's accepted, then there is no reason to argue about it.

www.collinite.com <-- one of the LONGEST lasting waxes out there, with a hell of a shine. I know the new owner and to this day, 1 in a half years after i owned it, the car still has a sick ass shine to it.
Which collinite did you use? Collinite is currently my "winter wax." It's very very durable.

I am curious as to which Collinite he used--because glaze before Collinite Insulator Wax would be pointless--very solventy wax.

Angle of photos have a lot to do with it.

This is my current favorite thing to do on black. Meguiars DACP, Clearkote Vanilla Moose, and Poorboys EX-P. The wettest look I have come across.

Quick detailer.

I've been using a mixture of Eagle One Wax As You dry (1 part) to 3 parts water. Works very very good.

I wash my car and after drying it I'd use a quick detailer, Meguiars has worked well for me. The reason I'd wash it first is cause when the water is drying on your car, it attracts dust/dirt and you wouldn't want to rub that stuff into your paint.

Yeah, if the car's too dirty then of course, rewash it. If you just washed it, and it rains, and right after, well, then you can use a QD and dry it off.
