There used to be a ton of nut-riding of Finish First on this board, but it has died down. Polymer sealants do NOT bond with the paint. There is no chemical reaction, and thusly it is a semi-permanant coat of protection.

Scroll down to the bottom and back up to Chris Webmaster's first post plugging Finish First. I think I gave good reasons why one should not spend money on the product, and should spend their money on things that will actually be able to remove/fill swirl marks and a wax after to give a lasting shine.
The perfect finish is not a product, it's a process. Until that's accepted, then there is no reason to argue about it.
