I too have a 98 ex v6, and the tranny takes so getting used to...(137k miles) My gf's mom just bought a new tsx with the autostick. Anyone know about a replacement tranny for the 98 J30A1 w/autostick? Tis not manual, but its a little more fun. Oh, and not just for fun, I downshift often here when we have lots of snow on the ground....

I read that lots of you have had problems with the AT in the 6th gen accords. Took mine out for a spin b/f buying, it shifted very smooth and quiet with no abruptness at all. After I got home and looked through the records given to me, I noticed that the whole tranny had been replaced by the dealer just 3K miles ago!

For people who have gotten it replaced, the replacement ones have not given you any problems like before?

I just found this forum yesterday, I wish I had sooner!
Maybe you should have kep that 92 Accord!, this generation doesn't have tranny problems.

You'd need to get a 99 TL shift assembly and then about $300 worth of wiring and transmission electronics.

I'm at slightly over 130K on my Accord (4cyl, F23A1 w/ 4AT) and I've beaten the shit out of it since it started slipping because I WANTED it to fail (I had a USDM 00 Prelude H22A1 + 5spd in my basement, but sold it when I got the desire to get the RSX-S)

But anyways, I can't get the fucker to fall out, short of draining the fluid probably. It slips like crazy when cold, but when it gets warm it's fine!

well at the time of this post i had put 8k on the new tranny with no problems...now i've put about 35k on it...i got it replaced at about 60k, i've got 95k on the car now and the tranny is fine. i've autocrossed in the car, and run it on road courses twice (probably about 200 laps or so total going all out on the track), plus i drive everywhere i go like im racing, and the new tranny is fine...if i can find somebody that can do the work locally tho, i want to swap in a 5 speed.
