6th gen accord run 13's. 6th gen H22a accord VS 5th gen lude. LBS/HP RATIO!!
hey
why do so many people laugh when they see threads that say 13 sec accord? if im not mistaken the I4 manual EX and LX bopth weigh LESS than a 5th gen prelude base and SH models!!!
FROM JDMSWAP.com:
5th gen lude BASE - 3009LBS
type SH - 3042LBS
6th gen accord I4 EX - 2976
LX - 2943
well...now, that prooves that 6th gens dont need to go on much of a diet after all...
so the questions is...if this is true and the weigh of the cars are what they are posted on that site, than why wouldnt the accord be the same or even a little faster than a prelude if the accord had a H22a in it...and if you have been around and seen that most turbo 5th gen ludes are hittin mid 13's with a good turbo and maybe even high 12's with a build up and custom turbo...
soo why is everyone saying that it is impossible or it cant be done with the H22a...
maybe yall are thinkin about something that i havent thought of...
i mean i have a chance to get an accord really cheap and b/c of that i can put either a new f23 or H22a in there...
is there something i am missing...
6th gen accord w/ H22a stock VS 5th gen lude STOCK???
which would win???
u tell me!
ALL INPUT, SUGGESTIONS, FLAMES WELCOME!!
tell me what you think...i think this is the accords only hope to be fast...while my second choice is a 240...i cant stop thinkin about the 6 th gen accord body style and the CLEAN ass interior! the 240 cant give me the comfort and style as much, although the S15 conversion would be dope!

The Preludes extra weight is do to the H22 being heavier then the F22/23.
So shoving an H22 into a 6th gen Accord would make it heavier then the Lude.
I still don't see the point, why spend money shoving an H22 into an Accord when you could just buy a Lude and spend money making it faster, period.
Unless your stock engine is shot, it's hard to find the swap an affordable option vs. buying the car it came in.

Turbo charging is going to be much easier and more effective.
Since The H22 and F22/23 are about the same displacement it's going to be much easier for force air/fuel into that volume then it is for the H22 to suck it in. I've seen many an F-series lay down 200hp at the wheels, which is much harder to do with an N/A H22.
In anycase an H22 in an Accord is never going to perform as well as a Lude-VTEC. Too much gurth on the Accord, it can run 13's but an H22 swap alone isn't getting you there.

After all the work that went into mine the forst time I took it out I ended up hitting very low 14s all day and topping off at 13.965. Now this is all motor so to get an Accord into the 12s with turbo really wouldn't seem all that hard if you built it right the first time.
Granted i am in a 5th gen sedan which is a bit lighter than the 6th gen bt the same principal applies

As far as the 94-97 Accords, the only DX's I've seen are the wagon. The 6thG Coupes don't have the trim level indicated on the car, but you can always tell by:
-Moonroof
-ABS (I believe this an EX only option, but correct me please. If you have to have ABS to tell you what the trim level is. . . ::sigh:
-15"/16" alloy wheels (and in the case of the 16", look for the V6 emblem)
Probably more, but the moonroof and wheels are the easiest things to look for.
Which models include a 'DX' level for the 6thG, and is there even a DX for the 7th?
