Default Speaker problem

ok, I have 91 Accord LX and im have trouble getting the rear speakers out. They don't work anymore so im gonna buy some new ones. But there are three screws I just CAN NOT get off. In the trunk there is one screw that I can not get to because its surrounded by two bars and a metal piece. Its hard to explain, but if anyone here has the same car as me they can go look in the trunk where the rear speakers are and see what im talkin about. I just need some advice on a better way to get them out. there is also one screw that is just way to damn tight, but I can get to that one so its not to much of a problem.

Also, when I buy the two new rear speakers, do I need to keep the stock speaker grills or do speakers normally come with the grills?

first off use stock speaker grill, cause metal will show if you dont, that is a hard screw to get to, best to get a screw-driver to socket conversion thats what i had to use then when i put my new speakers in i just left that screw off... but then agian i upgraded to 6x9's and cut a quater rotation. but it wont hurt to use 2 screws, your not going to push enough bass to rattle them loose. good luck

like a screwdriver handle, and it has a hollow tip for diffrent heads, then it has an insert that is actually a socket, mine are black and the small side goes in screw driver then the open side goes around nut, they are only for smaller screws but the ones on the speakers are small... if you still dont know i will try to find a pic.

I know what you mean. Im gonna have to buy some open handle ones though. One thing though, the screw is coming out of the nut. How can you get to the nut if the screw is sticking out? Hmm..if you find a picture for me that would help.

BTW, thanks for the help

Your 91' has screws? Hmm..in the 92 they use 3 nuts (which are still hard to get to), and then the whole speaker unit in the rear deck comes out through the trunk... What I had to do to work in the akward position was to lay on my back inside of the trunk to work.

In terms of the speaker grills, I know that the factory fabrication with the 1992's don't allow for the aftermarket speakers to just show, because they made the hole that the speaker extrudes up through the deck too big, so I know with mine I had to leave the grill on (which I wanted to do for security reasons).

No, mine has nuts too. That was a mistake, I just meant they were rolled around a screw.. That's also how I got mine out (laying in the trunk). How did you get the hard to reach nuts out when you changed yours?

Well a socket wrench didn't work for me because of where the nuts were positioned, so I used a regular specific sized wrench that fit the nuts (forget what size mm), and just slowly unscrewed, and screw the hardest ones.
