Brake popping noise in left front??
Has anyone has this problem. Sometimes when I stop something in the upper front of the car will pop. It sounds like its coming from the rotor but I am not quite sure.
I also notice that when I backup there is a grinding noise coming from the front left of the car, about where the rotor is. I am not sure what the problem may be and I have yet to look into it but I will tomorrow. Just wanted to get an idea of what it might be before I take it to my mechanic.
Thanks

Do you feel a noticeable change in your brake pedal firmness or stopping power? Or does it just make noises from that portion of the car. Bust the tire off, if there's no discernable damage to your pads, rotors, or caliper, nor is there any leak in the line, its prolly CV joint or suspension related.
What gen is your accord? I have this type of issue on my 5th gen. When ever back up and slow down put the car in drive or reverse there is a slight popping noise up front. I took it to honda on this and they said it is a normal sound and it has to do with the brake pad boots (term???). The piece that goes around the disc. (Sorry for the illexpresions) Honda said it does that because the boot moves higher or lower depend on drive IE Drive or Reverse. I don't know if this is true it is just what they told me. I have never had any problems with my brakes going out or wearing excessively fast.
yeah well all that I can say is that it doesn't sound normal at all to me! I have never heard this noise before and all of a sudden it comes out of nowhere.
I took it to the mechanic today and he said that everything looks normal, and I even took him for a drive to make it do it and voila it doesn't make the noise...crap.
Anyhoo, hopefully when I get my car lowered next week I will find out the problem.
