For some of you do-it-yourself at home techs, here's an interesting tool that you use on your home computer to get codes for OBD II compliant cars. I don't have money right now to pick one up, but in the future, I may pick one up, especially since my family has two other Toyotas that I know definitly works with them. You can check, and clear codes with this thing apparently and from what I heard, it's a pretty good tool. Don't know though if it will interface into Hondas or not.

PS...download the program and run it (you don't need the tool) it will show you a sample of what it does.

Ooh...here's another good one

When I got my exhaust done, it happened same.
My problem was O2 sensor. Check that out.

If your car is an 04 why are you asking this site for CEL help when Honda will give it to you for free?

As for the 6th gen, is it a V6, the CEL could be the common EGR failure. Also covered by the dealer for free at any mileage, usually.

i skiped to the end so someone may have said this but get one of those testers that plug into the connector under the dash on the dirver side by the door. and see if any codes come up. at the advanced auto stores around here they will do it for you for free. most likely there is a code in your computer and using one of those tools will tell your what is doing it so your can get it fixed. one time i unhooked the o2 sensor on our honda civic and pluged it back in and the check engine light came on, unhooked the batter for a few and hooked it back up and it went away.

Yeah I know the dealer could check it out/fix it if needed, but I just wanted to see if this has happened to anyone else as well. It is a hassle to go to the dealer for every little quirk that comes up with your car, unless you don't work or something. Anyways, the light went off by itself the other day. I just found it odd that whenever I get on it the light flashes like the engine is not made to ever be pushed or something....that was my frustration homeslice.
