Default Engine check light

I have a JDM b16a in my 88 honda Crx. The problem i'm having is that my Engine check light come on everytime i Reverse?does anyone know the problem? Also when i reverse my Tachometer would go up and down real fast....and then the check light would come on... the ECU blinks 2 slow and 3 fast...after that it would blink 6 fast....i've check the knock sensor and its pluged in...do i have to replace some sensors?

also is it neccessary to have the 2nd 02 sensor plug in? because when i had my old B16a headers it had 2 O2 sensor plug... but when i got my DC headers it only have one bung to plug the 02 sensor... so i just plug one 02 sensor in... is there a way where i can convert the wires to only read one sensor? thanx.

Sounds like A) Your shift likage is hitting somthing and somthing is shorting out or B) Somthing is in line with your circut off of the reverse lights switch...

Maby just a good place to start.

First an most obviously, a B16A in a CRX should not have a second O2 sensor. If it does, you're running OBD-2, which makes no sense. I don't know why you would have one, and if it throws no codes I would leave it out.

The knock sensor may be damaged. Code 6 is the coolant temp sensor, is it plugged in?

What ECU are you using? A PR3, a PW0 or something else?

off topic: i got 2 o2's on my b16 its an a1 from like early 90's. i think if one gets unhooked it trips out. but not what he has mentioned as his problem.

A PR3 should only need one O2 anyway.
