i hab no clue, just saying what i think might be the reason.
In 1996 all cars sold in USDM were required to be OBD-II. OBD stands for On Board Diagnostics. If you want to read more about odb II goto:

OBD 1 and 2 cars present certain challenges to honda engine swappers. OBD2 cars have different distributors, and useually more sensors (it depends on the make/model of the car). This is why people with 92-95 Civics generally try to stick with 95 and down B series engines.. it saves them money, because otherwise they have to swap distributors etc.

I wont go into this all here.. this is best left for the hybrid forum.

i dont understand what you guys mean, i got an entire longblock h22a from japan shipped for 1500? i think i found a place for an h22a complete engine tranny ecu axles for about 2100. How is that expensive? The cheapest i have found a complete b16a changeover was like 2300? Again look at what they cost before saying they are expensive, or check other places some places rip new assholes!

I've decided to turbo my F22B. One thing. I have a friend who has a 95 accord ex. He wants to turbo his but it has 160,000. Should he buy a new F22B and build it up for there??
