Default Accord Engine Swap

I curreently own a 1990 honda accord dx with an F22a1 Engine under the hood. I am thinging about replacing it with something faster but I dont know what to put in. What would anybody reccomend to be the best engine to install? The car is in Imaculate condition so I would rather keep it over buying a diffent car to build up.

h22a drops right in with the stock motor mounts and drops you down about 2 seconds depending on driver.

a B series engine would harldy get the Accord moving down the road.. with around 100 ft lbs of torque.. its not an option.

What you may have heard is its a tight fit... which it is. I have helped do a couple h22a swaps and one we used the Prelude tranny and it was kinda tough to wiggle the engine into its mount.. you definatly have to go at an angle (tranny in first). The second swap i helped with he used the original F22 tranny and it wiggles in a little easier.

Well my motor is arriving in about 3 weeks or so and i can tell you first hand then, but now, the stock 4th gen accord mounts work but i am sticking with the f22 tranny, halfshafts, and shift linkage.

Go for an h23. Should get that 4th gen moving quicker and its cheaper than an h22. Personally i wouldnt ever put the money it costs to do an h22 swap into a car that old.

if you're going for an H23 just get the F22B then.. same thing except half the price.

4Gen4DoorAccord - Smart move.. theres really no well geared tranny for the F or H series engines unless you make one (switch out gears)... so you're making the right decision.

If i still had my car an auto i would probobly do a newer auto lude swap.. tiptronic would be kinda fun.

My main thing is what are the different engines out there and why in the world in the type-r cost almost double the h22a when the h22a has more power? And what engines will fit in a 96 accord ex. Anything else other then honda would be recommend also.

best suitable for Turbo or supercharge i guess?? i dunno......oh maybe lower displacement (whatever it is, hihi), higher redline, larger compression ration (can go NA better than H22, some1 told me dat) and OBD-2 ECU which I don't get what's the difference btw 1 and 2 at all...

i hab no clue, just saying what i think might be the reason.

Very few B18C5's out there... and everyone and their mother with a civic wants one. So like all things... supply / demand = $$$$. I don't know why you'd waste you time on a B18C5... the intake cam etc they use in there isnt that good compared to aftermarket stuff these days.. its just not worth the extra $. I used to own a hybrid Civic CX and I'm glad i didnt believe the hype.

I think h22a's are way overpriced too. The whole JDM engine market is BS. In japan they take these from cars that have to be destroyed anyway (due to Japans manditory age/milage limits).

Talk about pulling money out of the garbage can!!!
