Speaking of turbo, here is my stupid question of the day.

When you install a turbo, do you have to get a different set of headers? Or how do they install with the turbo since the turbo installs to the exhaust outlets.

the turbo is bolted on a cast iron exhaust manifold that is bolted to the head

The fmax turbo kit is nice because it basically comes with everything you need. The price does seem a bit high but if you add everything up it looks like it might come out to that amount. A couple of guys on this board said that they changed a few parts when they got the kit but other then that is was pretty good. Depending on your application you can go custom which is most should be cheaper. I keep on thinking the same thing. h22+LSD tranny+extras(I/H/E,etc)looking at about $3k give or take. fmax turbo kit is about $3400 I think. Screaming vtec from an accord or a turbo spooling up in an accord. So what would give you the best gains and is reliablity a factor?? Just do what you really want but remember performance and cheap doesn't mix. So do it right the first time

So basicly you have no use for your stock or OEM fit manifold right?

but turbo is the more economical way to get the power now. If he goes with h22 swap than he will get some instant power but still be stuck with not a whole lot and an empty wallet. If u turbo the f22 then u have instant power and above all the torque that h22 will lack. In the future u can always take that f22 and build it up to accomodate even more boost (which the kit will happily provide) and have a lot more power. Shit he can always use that same kit on an H22 later on in the game.

on a DOHC engine the VTEC does actually cause blowby in lare boost applications, but not enough to make a noticable difference unless you're running 10+ PSI

on a SOHC engine, VTEC or not, there is no chance of blowby because when the intake valves are open the exhaust valves are closed and vice versa which makes the SOHC engine more solid in higher boost applications.

Yes. Your stock manifold is replaced by a turbo manifold that bolts to the engine and turbo and then by the downpipe that bolts together the turbo and exhaust system.

Engine>Turbo Manifold>@Turbo>Downpipe>Cat+exhaust system>atmosphere

and on the fresh air intake side:

Air filter>@Turbo>Intercooler>Blow Off valve>Intake manifold>Engine

wait, just build up the f22 and turbo and dont wait until it blows, its just wasted money. if its gonna blow, why not just spend the extra money to build it up to prevent it from blowing the motor...
