Default Another SRS Problem

(2000 Accord LX Sedan)

My SRS light came on after pulling the SRS fuse. I've now learned my lesson. The SRS light is now on.

I have tried the paperclip method of jumping the brown and black wires on the 16-pin Data Link Connector.

I jumped the wires.
I turned on the ignition on and the SRS light stayed on for 6 seconds, then went off.
I disconnected the paperclip within the 4 seconds time frame.
The light came back on as anticipated.
I reconnected the paperclip within 4 seconds - but the light never went off again.

Any advise?
Autozone??

Thanks - Matt

I'm confused...

Is the Service Connector Location different than a MES connector in a 2000.

There was no yellow bundle/wires neer the fuse locations - only behind the steering column.

Please see the link below for pics and text to see where I went wrong.

Thanks

I did this procedure sometime last year and I have a 2002 Accord SE and mine was yellow, not gray. Maybe it's different in a 2000 but I'm pretty sure that the same gen accord would have the same wiring but don't quote me on that.

Rocky, the pics in the link you provided are for a 5th gen (maybe, looks like a lot of diff gens on that page) so yours will look a little different. The plug is located on the drivers side right under the steering wheel. My accord has two yellow plugs there and the correct one to do the reset procedure on is the smaller of the two plugs (it's not wrapped in that yellow wire wrapping though). The plug looks just like the one in the pics from this site

http://www.hondapitstop.com/accord/t...1/SRS/srs.html

but, again, that accord is a 5th gen so your plug will be plugged into something (fuse box maybe) and not have a plug cover on it. I hope this helps. When I did mine there was a website that has reset instructions for a 6th gen with pics and everything. It made doing my reset very easy but I can't find it anymore. If I do find it I'll post the link here.
