Default Dance light --> SRS problem

I posted this problem here about a year ago:

It's a known defect in 2k+ civics and accords that dance light/strobe light/cell phone, etc would trigger the SRS sensors in the cabin due to eletrical interference. The SRS light would come on and only dealer service can reset it.

I am wondering if anyone has a 2k+ accord/civic and a dance light with NO SRS problem. If you have any way to get around it, please let me know..

For those who dont know what a dance light is...
it's a pen shaped light (comes in many colors) that flashes to the music. You basically plug the power adaptor into the cig lighter and there's a little black device that has a power switch and a sound sensor.

Many of my friends have the light but they dont have SRS problems (they drive 99 Accord, CL, Integra, Focus, Mercedes...etc)

So it would be great if anyone knows any way to get around the problem... Thanks a bunch!

Kevin

True. I am just wondering why only I have the problem.
It might sound gay to you but many guy friends of mine have it.
It certainly catches attention and sometimes compliments, and that's also one of the reasons why people mod their cars. It is one of the 1,000,000 things I would like to spend money on.

so you plug it into the cigarette lighter, which is wired into the car from the factory. Put in a new cigarette lighter with new wiring with a simple relay so that its not hooked to the car????????????????????????

It's not a problem in the power source. Honda told me that the sensors might be triggered if a laptop is used inside the car regardless of the power source (adaptor/battery). It's the electric signals that the device emits that somehow activates the SRS light...

to turn off/fix the SRS light:

go to picture #10 (thanks to brian. it helped turn mine off when something went wrong too)...

...as for "dance lights" or neons triggering your SRS light, i've never heard of it. mine have been triggered once when i put on my blackhousings a week after messing with my gauges (odd huh?) but that's the only time. I've had my neon dance lights on for like 4 months previous to that. never had a problem with it.

oh yeah, and don't put it with your cigarette lighter. that's :gay: and cheap i might add. just put your extra 30 minutes into the work, get some wires, crimps, a switch, and a fuse to wire everything in. use your 12V outlet for something more useful. like charging your phone to make big business calls and important personal calls.

Thanks man! where do I get a SCS service connector?

BTW, you said you wired your light internally, so it always turns on when you turn on the power? Coz a friend told me that he only turns the light on after ignition, and yet he never had the SRS problem.

Thanks.
