Governed Engine?

but if you have a 6MT and your last gear is allowing your car to run at 75 at a lower RPM than the 5th gear of a 5MT then of course it will save you cruising gas...
but it also may allow you to have the same final gear and have an extra gear in there, making the gear difference smaller and therefore allowing you to accelerate faster...

Anyways the governer will only kick in in 5th gear when ur speedo reaches 140mph. Unfortunatly unless ur going downhill with tail wind it probably won't ever happen on stock tire size. My 16's did it because the actuall speed was slower and the gears had much more pull.
damn, I don't think I would want to go 150, not even on a track. F that. 130 is high enough for me, and I don't even remember the last time that I took my car that far. Recently the fastest I've gone is around 110. Guess I'm growing out of it.
86 honda accord 2dr hatchback frankenstien sleeper.no nos, no turbo, homemade cold air intake, swapped injectors, performance fuel pump, dying suspension, track tested (friends 1/2 mi long blacktop driveway in country ) 146MPH It took a modded prom with rpm limiter removed to do that. same vs an 88 camero irocz(no mods) neck and neck most of the way initial is where I lookd bad.(I had 2 friends onhand with medical trainig and several fire extinguishers present)
However people streetracing ARE taking more than their own lives in their hands. A prerequisite for having a fast car should be seeing thier kids or some other loved one almost get smashd by a reckless driver sometime.
RACING IS FOR TRACKS OR OTHER CONTROLLED SITUATIONS NOT STREETS WHERE INNOCENT BYSTANDERS GET HURT!

At 115+ miles per hour anything can cause your car to veer off the road or even cause you to loose control.
An Accord with correct wheel balance, godo alignemnt, and tires and suspension in good conditon, will be very stable at only 115 mph. Although a skilled driver and soem common sense is needed to use good judgement on manuvering and avoiding accidents at higher speeds.
115mph for exampel is nothing on a motorcyle. I don't even have ot get into a tuck at that speed. On my bike I' mstill in 3rd gear... on newer 1000cc bikes, only 2nd gear at 115!!! I can go from 0-120-0 on my bike faster than a 4 cylinder Accord can get to 0-70-0... and in a shorter distance.

I'd bet that many street racers never pay attention to their tire pressure, condition and balance before going 100+. I also bet that many of them do it with so-so brakes and leaking shocks, too. I've seen some piles of junk haulin' A down the highway. I saw a guy just yesterday in an old muscle car with his rear sway bar hanging loose on one end almost scraping the ground.
No one also bothered to mention that I feel my Accord is stable at any speed.
Yesterday I visited 125MPH land. No problems.
Last winter I visited 135MPH land beating some damn BMW with HIDs. No problems.
I have one front TOYO Proxie tire and some Capital Negosiator shit on the other tire. The back two are TOYO Proxies.
I used to ride on 17" wheels with Kumho 711. I had two of the 711s blow up on me, including one at 100MPH. Riding back on stock 15" alloys for now.
