and the ex models are hot shit
seriously, who the hell is the moron that designed that tranny?!?!? Its SOOOOO useless, especially if you live in the mountains. If you want a car that gets super gas milage on the highway, all you have to do is have a tall 5th, theres no reason to **** 3rd and 4th too. My third gear is taller than my roommates fifth! :madfawk:
God, my car is such a pussy. It's in the parking lot crying AGAIN! This time it's insecure about it's transmission. So sensitive, I swear! Please don't say anything about "passenger side mirrors are tha shizzy" or "my Si came with mudflaps" or "DX trim roxors!"... because I could never afford the perscription oil and gas it would take to calm it down.
Seriously, though. The cx motor makes more torque than any of the 1.5L's can below 5000 RPMs. The cx doens't have any trouble getting around with it than it already has, but other engines with less torque might. The only reason my DX motor makes the gears so ridiculous is because the red-line is nearly 2000 RPMs higher. Since it's second gear winds out higher than any posted speed limit outside of Montana, and 1st gear will get you arrested in any school zone, you can always blip-downshift into the powerband with this combo. The CX is so light, it doesn't have any trouble getting up and going in 1st gear. I think it works out pretty good. But I was wrong about 55 in 5th... it's 1750 RPMs. Still, that's sipping gas. And you're right about mountains. I'd have to thrash this thing, but I think it would take it well.
So White_n_slow... you have a CX gearbox with your swap? Or is the VX the same?
Wait... what's this thread about? Oh crap! Threadjacking again! Oops!
