whats the code mean, wheres the database, i cant seem to find it?

ok i give, whats the cure:

54 96-98 Civic
97-98 CRV
94+ Integra CKF Sensor (Crankshaft Speed Fluctuation) defective circuit or unplugged / defective sensor


i mean, im throwing a 54, but im a 1999 hatch, and im not technically on that list. any idea? where is this sensor so i can check if its loose? my car is in limp mode right now so its running for ish. help would be appreciated :-\

*edit* - i see the list only goes up to 1998, it jsut hasnt been updated recently. gimme ideas

ok, im reading some websites that claim this can be an issue of misfires deviating more than 2% cylinder to cylinder, but typically that causes codes of the misfire issue.

could really use some help. :-\

That sensor plays a roll in timing advance. Older cars used to be on a vacuum advance. As the revs climb, the timing needs to advance. Anyways, that sensor is usually found in the dist. or right by the crank pulley.

my first one was some bs about vapor recovery, etc, it ended up being a missing fuel cap...so the codes can be misleading if you're not in the industry.

you proly dont drive the piss outta your car either though, im pretty mean to her.

yay, a mod,

ok, does it imply that the sensor is off, or does it imply a need to advance my timing? should i check my timing?

(i think its time to order that there helms)

i drive my car pretty hard(drag racing, and also drive like an ass daily) but might also be the climate etc?

well, im at 45,000, due for an oil change, and i have no record of a tuneup.
