Tires on SI wheels

Tires on SI wheels
I'm looking to swap some new rubber on my SI rims. Are there any particular models which people would recommend for optimum handling. Also I'm wondering if anything wider than 195 should be able to fit on these wheels. Thanks.

if you go wider than the rim is intended for, you will lose cornering cuz its not good for the tire.... Kumho Ecsta is a great tire, Toyo Proxe is also good, i have Sumitomo Srixon4 on mine but my rims are 185-60-14 (keep it stock :-D) they are good see if they come in your size too (i got mine from tire rack i think or discount tire direct)

i was reading reviews on the khumo on tirerack.com and some people were complaining about vibration and lots of road noise from those tires. I need new tires, gonna get some 205/50 15's, but still trying to decide on an inexpensive brand.

My favorite picks (since I'm an autocrosser in a street tire class):
BFG g-force TA KDs - these are my next tire
Falken Azenis - have these now and for the price and stick they beat alot of expensive tires. Great in the dry AND the wet with tread.
Kumho 712s - these are my daily driver tires and they work good for me. Used them last year for autocross and got several top 3 wins.
Kumho MX - these are supposed to be on par with the KDs and Azenis. Don't know who is using them though.
Bridgestone S03s - I know several people happy with these, but the price is a bit high
Toyo T1S - all the guys in the Speed World Challenge use these tires and give back great reviews - now of course they wish they were on racing tires though.
I recommend using 205/50x15" tire size since it will keep the diameter almost stock. But anything is better than the Michelins that can stock.

You can get 25-30K miles on them with proper toe and camber. I was only dropped 1" last year. Noise is not bad. Not as loud as my A520s.
