yes of course it applies to all engines. It's called an engine code.

D = SOHC (single over head cam)
B = DOHC (dual ")
15 = 1.5
16 = 1.6 etc.

Yours is a D15B7 I believe. B20 is from a CRV

D series engines are found in Civics
B series are found in the 94-97 del Sol VTEC, 99-00 Civic SI, 90-00 Integra, CRV...

If you look on the engine block itself, it should say, but I'm not sure how I could give you directions on where it's located. I'm also not sure of what that number is that you posted. I'm possitive it's a D15?7. I just can't remember which letter goes there. What do you need this info for anyways?

they should know which part it is just by the year make and model. I have no clue on how to change a head gasket. You could post something on the "Engine Tech" forum or do a search on the "DIY" forum. Why don't you get a thin one to raise the C/R. Now's your chance.

Compression Ratio. Gives you a tiny boost in horsepower.

go here It's for a D16, but I'm sure they make 'em for the D15 as well.
