get a complete swap if possible. if you really have a lot of tools like u said, then thats even better... i think the hardest part of installing the gsr engine is wiring your secondaries since you have to switch a couple of wires... if you know what to do, its cake. it took me 10 hrs to do my first swap; 2 hrs taking the old motor out and putting the new motor in, 8 hrs on wiring w/ a lot of breaks

1. vtec solenoid
2. vtec pressure switch
3. knock sensor
4. secondary butterfly solenoid
u need to use these plugs and hard wire them to the ecu. use your stock harness for everything else
