tranny problem?!?!
It sounds like you just went under the car to look to see if you could see something. Go back and make sure you bolt for the shift linkage are tight (re torque 'em). and make sure the pin is in properly.
so back and look for stuff, and if the problem is still there take it to an experienced mechanic, and see what he says.
It's kinda hard to solve the problem with "it pulls out of 2nd gear". We can only do so much with limited info.

and you said to retorque the shiftlinkage, what do i need to tighten, i pulled out the pin and the bar came down....?!
there are two rods for the shift linkage. one is connected via the pin, the other is conencted using a bolt. there are also a few bolts where the shift stem is. check all those bolts.
from doing a clutch install that is the only thing i can think of that will affect you coming out of gear. it could be something internal but unless you were real rough with the tranny during removal and install that shouldn't be the case
could be something that was there before clutch install and you did something during the clutch install to make the problem more apparent.

whats the torque spec on those bolts?
i didnt drop the tranny or anything like that. second gear has never been a problem, just third gear with a little grinding, nothign to bad. now, third gear wont grind, but im not able to be in second gear without it popping out by itself.
i don't know the torque steps. i just make them tight.
if it's a problem. hold it in gear.

and i do try and hold it into gear, it doesnt matter what i do, i will pop out and not go back in, and grinds like a mother fawker and no matter what i do, it wont engadge.
DUDE ITS YOUR SYNCHROS, THEY ARE TOAST!!!!!!!!!!!!
Happened to me same problem with it not staying in gear.
your synchros are so worn they wont hold the gear. if you decide to repair the tranny, you might want to check your spider gears too, if you synchros are gone, good chance your spider gears are toast. also one more thing, if you repair your tranny check your shift fork make sure its not bent.
My best advice, get a new tranny off another b series motor. repairing trannys are a BITC* and if you take it to a shop, youll pay more for fixing it then you would getting a new/used one.
well hope that helps. next time, dont downshift sooo much. i know its fun but unless you need to, dont.
