nah, didnt loose to much anyhow. if it was low on fluid it will do it in the upper gears aswell..so im ruleing that out.

i doubt the throw out bearing has anything to do with it.

did you remove the shift linkage that attaches to the tranny, by a ping? or did you leave that one on? i usually leave that shift linkage attached cause that pin is hard to get out with limited space.

i'd double check the shift linkage.

we popped the pin out.....and hammered it back in....

i took a look at the shift linkage, and the only thing that i found that wasnt right was the boot was off, but i still dont know if that would cause the problem?!!?

I know you're only supposed to use a new pin... not sure if you did this, but using the old pin causes problems. Everything manual I've seen has explicitly said "After removing the pin, throw it away; use only a new one."

I don't know if that would mess up the linkage enough to cause the gear to pop out....

i used the old one, all the pin does is hold the linkage into the tranny...someone correct me if im wrong.

and it is still popping out, could this be do to my ss?

please help, i dont want my second gear syncro getting fawked up like my third gear...thanks...

update:

i checked the tranny fluid level, and it was fine.

also, if i try and start out in 2nd gear from a stop, i cant, but from 1,3 and so on, it will go in and grip...

anyone?
